Your Host

Meet Lubna  & AG Ansari , the Husband-Wife Team behind Camp Riverwild. Building a Eco Friendly Camp has always been a lifelong dream of Lubna's and when in 2006 AG Ansari was looking for a project to give new life to his property in Jim Corbett, Lubna  jumped at the chance to create Camp Riverwild.  Lubna  now runs the Camp alongside her partner AG Ansari.

"We wanted to create a space that encompassed all of our passions .  It needed to be environmentally sustainable and eco friendly.  It also needed to have interesting Log hut like Architecture, a Golghar Restaurant and offer Indian Cuisine.  Camp Riverwild is a Boutique Property home to only six luxurious log-hut suites, all overlooking the kosi riverbed, Camp Riverwild boasts all the features of an exceptional jungle Retreat - beautiful setting, excellent cuisine and abundant wildlife.

All of the cottages have been created using natural and recycled materials; equipped private viewing deck  providing an exotic scenic view of riverbed and patlidoon vally of jim corbett national park. we have composting toilets, collected rainwater and woodfired .

" As caretakers of this land for future generations, we want to leave it in better shape than when we received it."

The river surrounding the Campriverwild is Kosi River originates from Dharapani Dhar, located at a height of 2500 metres in Baramandal region of Almora district of Uttarakhand. The river flows graciously along the verdant valleys of the hill district before culminating into the Terai region of Uttar Pradesh.Locally known as the Kosila, the water resources of Kosi river forms the rich vegetation and farmland of the Kumaun region. This is the source of life for the growing wildlife and forests of the entire Jim Corbett National Park.

The riverbed of Kosi is filled with boulders and its flow is often erratic. Water flows in torrents during monsoon in this river, making it a marvellous tourist destination. The water of the river is very pristine and calm once the monsoon ends. You can bask in the sun by the riverside, take a stroll in the adjacent areas, catch a glimpse of various migratory birds that come to the valley round the year. Overall, this is a perfect place for a vacation in the lap of nature.

Guests have access to over 1000 feet of river frontage on the property. We have blazed a rough walking trail that closely follows the riverbank for about 1/2 mile at each end. This river walk starts out easy and becomes moderately challenging as it travels upstream. The kids love to search for crawdads, splash in the shallow rapids, dig in the sand and mud on the riverbank, collect rocks and other treasures, and generally stay wet!
